Mudcloth Shirt (M-L)
This gorgeous vintage cotton fabric was lovingly washed and repaired by Meli and Colleen before Meli decided what it would become. There is a 4 mm concentration of indigo which looks like a dot on the front of the shirt; we love it because it tells a story! We really don't want to patch over it! (But we will upon request 😊).
Mudcloth is a traditional craft from West Africa that displays sophisticated textile modalities such as spinning, hand-weaving on a loom, natural dyeing with fermented mud or indigo plant, and resist dyeing or sometimes (with newer pieces) hand-printing. This piece is a particularly gorgeous example, made into a classic boho-style shirt with a beautiful drape.

Fits women’s sizes M-L (For best fit, measure your full bust with a tape measure—this is not your bra size— and compare to product circumference below)
Garment Dimensions:
Length: 18.5” in front (not including tassels), 20.5” in back (not including fringe)
Width: 21.5”
Circumference: 43” (allow at least 2” of positive ease as there is little to no stretch in this garment; fits wearer up to 41” full bust)
To find your best fit, we recommend knowing your chest circumference, not your bra size.
How to measure your chest circumference:
1. Preparation:
- Find a flexible tape measure.
- Wear a fitted or thin shirt, or measure without a shirt to avoid inaccuracies from bulky fabric.
- Stand up straight with your arms relaxed at your sides. Avoid slouching or puffing out your chest.
2. Taking the Measurement:
- Wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your chest, typically around the nipples and under the armpits.
- Ensure the tape is horizontal and level all the way around.
- The tape should be snug but not too tight – you should be able to fit a finger or two underneath.
- Breathe normally and don't hold your breath.
3. Recording the Measurement:
- Read the measurement where the end of the tape meets the rest.
- For greater accuracy, you can take the measurement twice and average the results.
- If possible, have someone help you ensure the tape is level and in the correct position.
How to measure your hips:
1. Preparation:

- Stand with your feet 4-6 inches apart.
2. Taking the Measurement:
- Wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your hips/buttocks.
- Ensure the tape is horizontal and level all the way around.
- The tape should be snug but not too tight – you should be able to fit a finger or two underneath.
3. Recording the Measurement:
- Read the measurement where the end of the tape meets the rest.
- For greater accuracy, you can take the measurement twice and average the results.
- If possible, have someone help you ensure the tape is level and in the correct position.

Refunds and Exchanges:
To qualify for a refund or exchange of your garment in its original condition (unworn and unwashed) , email us at support@freedomfibers.org within 2 weeks of delivery.
For returns, include:
- order number
- USPS tracking number for the item you are returning
For exchanges, add:
- a screenshot of the specific garment you would like in exchange
Returns and exchanges are sent back to our shop at the buyer's expense and we will ship any exchanges at our expense.
Refunds may take up to 2 weeks to be processed and do not include shipping fees.
